I met Tara & Zack for the first time in DeKalb for their engagement session. With Zack standing tall at 6' 6" it was no wonder to me why he used to play for NIU's football team (The Huskies). These two had done their homework and came prepared with some great ideas and excitement as we headed out to capture this important stage of their lives together.
One moment that was really touching during this session happened while we were walking through the woods. We came to a tree that Zack had carved their wedding date and initials into for the session (pic below). It was by far the sweetest thing any of my future grooms have done for an engagement session - it made me melt despite the cold weather. Tara - he's a keeper!
These two not only look fantastic together but it was easy for me to see the love between them. Being around newly engaged couples never gets old - I love seeing them interact from behind my lens. We headed to the stadium to wrap up the session with some football themed photos. Although Tara went to Kansas State (The Wildcats) she was all for the NIU Stadium shots...but represented her college by wearing a Wildcats sweatshirt.
Congratulations to the Huskie and Wildcat who fell in love! Thank you for having me be a part of this exciting time in your lives - I can't wait for the wedding :)
